New Square Chambers runs a traditional clerks room because we think this best serves our clients’ needs and our own for an efficient and friendly administration of our practices.

Clive Petchey is senior clerk, working with his team of junior clerks, Neil Garrett, Phil Reeves, Michelle Greene and Daniel Westerman to see that our clients get the best possible service.

Clerks at New Square Chambers assist our clients to find the right chambers barrister for the job and in terms of both experience and cost. They are responsible for administering cases, including the listing of hearings. Our clerks make the financial arrangements with clients on our behalf. As early converts to the benefits of IT and the internet we offer modern telephone conferencing facilities and are happy to receive and send documentation electronically.

The clerks’ room is normally open between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. Out of these hours the clerks can be contacted on the telephone numbers set out on our Contacting Us page.
